Design supply and installation of limestone by I.A.E.
1. The ICF structure used to build this english colonial style building, home of the Custom Authority at the Christophe Harbour Marina, had many details that had to be designed with the intention to accommodate the Italian limestone architectural elements.
2. Windows and doors stone surrounds were installed with a special thinset mortar into a recess of the ICF, leaving the stone with the necessary overlapping to accommodate doors, windows and bricks on the face of the wall.
3. The dimensions of the stone elements composing the balcony parapets were built with stones of large dimensions obtaining, thanks to the seamless joints, a monolithic appearance of the entire structure.
Catholic church Stella Maris, Puerto Rico
- Behind the architectural concept of Catholic church Stella Maris the verticalization of the structure is predominant because of its location in the area of Condado, San Juan Puerto Rico. As a result the main portals of the entrance and nartex reach the impressive height of thirty five feet. Based on the structural drawings IAE proposed the custom shop drawings for each architectural stone element that later became part of the official architectural drawings used for construction.
- Inside the church, the columns along the central nave reach forty five feet and were constructed in two levels supporting the walls with the internal window openings.
- The base of the cupola which is sitting on an octagonal concrete structure has the external classic decorative stone frame.
- In the inside of the cupola a different stone frame is repeated while eight circular window frames allow the entrance of natural light from each wall supporting the cupola.
- IAE completed the Stella Maris project with the supply and installation of the marble floor. The Spanish marble chosen for this structure was selected and cut in Spain by IAE, which insured to the final client the uniformity of the tonality of the stone needed for all the 8,000 square feet. The floor pattern is a design of IAE.
Plaza Pública Toa Baja, Puerto Rico
For this plaza forty thousand square feet of brazilian granite tiles were installed. The material was purchased and custom fabricated for IAE in the country of origin. Urban furniture and luminaries were also provided by IAE, exclusive distributor for the Caribbean region of FV Group.
Acquamarina Luxury Apartments in SanJuan, Puerto Rico
For this project two beautiful classic italian marbles were selected and cut to custom dimensions in Carrara, Italy.
